Just seen this thread and have just posted on the above thread about Liverpool's season on the Premier League section of the forum.
No piss taking from me (I know, for a change!) just wondering what's happening at Liverpool? Has it all gone pear-shaped for Rafa or is this just a temporary dip in form which will fade into normal service resumed soon? Did Liverpool deserve anything out of last night's game? 1-1 on 90 minutes and conceding a winner hints at the fact that at least a point was deserved? -------------------- We got Redknapp
And we're still crap (doo dah! doo dah!) Harry, Harry, twitch like crap, f**k off Harry Redknapp... Tottenham! Tottenham! *** We got Redknapp Cos we were crap (doo dah! doo dah!) Juande Ramos' got the clap! Off Harry, Harry Redknapp! Tottenham! Tottenham! ![]() |

I have 1 Toffee and 1 Gooner(not the expected one either) on FB..... I know how to click ignore when the rest ask to be added. Kev to be honest a draw would have been a fair result....and the one I predicted to Saj before kick off. I'll be honest as I usually am.....our squad isn't strong enough..... there is a lot of rubbish on FB from LFC fans saying that Babel should have started in place of N'gog......Why?? Babel has had plenty of opportunities to prove his worth as a starter and isn't any better than N'gog in my oppion....and don't start me on Voronin. We need a back up striker that can actually cover for Fernando and we need Aqualung to be as good as we are hoping he really is. -------------------- ![]() |

Dirk Kuyt might be your best bet up front when Torres isn't fit. You're right though Rob, the squad isn't quite strong enough, especially up front. N'Gog might become a good player but he's not going to win you many games now.
Personally I like Babel, I think he should be a really good player, the size of him, and his skill, but he's just not done it at Liverpool consistently so far so I can see what you and Scott are saying on that one. Gerrard is irreplaceable as we all know. Alonso was a good player though, and can do a job. His passing was excellent. In the Liverpool squad now there's no one who could get close. Mascherano is a very good holding player and Lucas... well, I dunno about him. Whenever I've seen him he doesn't look like a player who should be playing for Liverpool/a top 4 club. Maybe I'm wrong on that one? Rafa should have gone that extra mile to bring in a David Villa type striker to go alongside Torres. That's a world beating combination as proven at international level. If Liverpool win nothing this season - what then? Are Liverpool fans still happy to stick with Rafa or will the panic buttons be pushed? -------------------- We got Redknapp

Babel had a storming game for Holland not so long ago in the same position we play him in....So why the hell can't he do it for us????
In my oppion the nearest we have to Xabi in the passing stakes is actually one of our central defenders.....Danny Agger.
Masch is the glue for our midfield....we are so much more vulnerable without him. Lucas is actually better than quite a lot of Liverpool fans give him credit for....unfortunately for him he is being asked to replace Xabi at the moment and he isn't that good.
This would have meant Waldorf and Stadtler putting their hands in their pockets and we all know they don't want to do that.
Not sure how everyone else feels but I think Rafa should be given time to replace Alonso and get cover for Torres and a decent winger that wants to perform for us....... The current most successful premiership manager had a few years to get his side together and he too went through all the 'sack him now' crap that we all know doesn't work 90% of the time. And we all know how he turned out. -------------------- ![]() |

From my view, the most troubling concern is on defense. In years past, a 1-0 lead, at home, after 70 minutes of a CL group match would have meant game over. Moreover, the typical Reds back 4 would never have dreamed of conceding a 90+ winner AT HOME.
Gone are the days of Pepe leading the EPL in clean sheets. Gone are the days of soaking up long spells of pressure from a desperate opponent only to launch a counter-attack to seal the match with a late 2nd goal. Gone is the mundane “defense-first” consistency of Finnan, Henchoz, Hyypia, et al. (I’ll leave the players from the glory days out of the argument). Johnson’s attacking punch is a great benefit to the attack. However, Carragher has really demonstrated some patches of ordinary play. It may be time to scrap the zonal marking - at least on set pieces. Just a quick note on Masch…I do love his stability in defensive midfield. I only wish he would shut up and play. -------------------- ![]() ![]() Yes that IS Bob Paisley sitting in front of Redyankee |
