I have to say im incredibly dissapointed with flintoff. playing like someone was in his position, i would have bet on him making a hundred at the least. instead he started going for rfash shots, and after the wild swing he took in the second last over i was certain warne would get him. shane warne is so good that way, his experience has made him even better than his talent has.
for me mcgrath not being able to play only meant that the same score would be achieved quicker, it brought on false confidence.
this was the match i expected england to bounce back in, it remains to see if they can bounced back from suchn a bloody dissapointing total.

dissappointed in flintoff??? blink.gif

he only had jones for company and they compiled a 51 run partnership... which could be the difference between victory and defeat

282 is not easy on a fourth day's edgbaston wicket...

harmison , jones and hoggard will be screaming in...

already a great -*test*-('") match..

England's second innings total may be a little dissapointing but I think it could be enough. Should make for an exciting finish. McGrath will likely miss the next -*test*-('") too so England still have an opportunity now do what many thought unachieveable and win -*test*-('")s against Australia.

England's biggest concern though must be Vaughan's from with the bat.

greyman- 08-06-2005
Just woke up to see the score. Unless tha Aussie tail does something special then it is England's -*test*-('"). Poor batting by the Australian middle order.

Take a Bow Freddie Flintoff... this has been your -*test*-('") TalkFootball/Respect.gif TalkFootball/35.gif

Harmison's slower ball dismissal of Clarke... bloody brilliant TalkFootball/35.gif

2 wickets left for england to take ,,, and they should level the series today

Just got back from my sisters where I have been watching the final days play. Her bloke and I had to banish her to another room so she could watch Big Brother, such was the intensity. Great game and congrats go to England though both teams provided an unbelievable match. Like the Kangaroo and Emu on the Australian Coat of Arms this Australian team don't know how to take a backward step. I doubt you could script a more exciting finish.

One -*test*-('") each and its series on.

Incredible.

really, i thought that flintoff apparently getting ttired of whacking the australians around the park would havve meant doom for england, as it was, great balling and an incredible finish.

well done flintoff overall. i finally saw england win a good match.

Mr Parr- 08-08-2005
Will we ever see a more exciting -*test*-('") match again in our lives ?

Probably not.

The game had everything. Firstly it looked like England should win, then Australia, then England, then Australia, then England, then Australia ...... and then with the Aussies one shot away from victory Harmison bowled a beautifully vicious ball.

Fantastic cricket !!!!

It was more like watching one day cricket than a -*test*-('") match.

'Freddie' Flintoff's performance will go down as one of the best all-round performances of all time and was right up there with Botham's in 1981.

Full credit to the players from both teams.

With the fears and the troubles of terrorism over the last few weeks it was great for us just to escape and sit back (even though I was on the edge of my seat for most of the time) and be entertained for a few days.

Can't wait for the -*test*-('") at OT TalkFootball/woohoo.gif
