Feeling withdrawl symptoms? Not only are we one week away from the fixture lists coming out, but the first round of the Carling Cup will be drawn on Wednesday 13th June at 10am.

MartyrToTheCause- 06-07-2007
that's very early! - is it always drawn in June?

sajlfc- 06-07-2007
i read that it was in june a while back but thought it was june 14 TalkFootball/howdidthathappen.gif

Agreed that it does seem early, apparently the first matches will played on August 13th, a few days after the CC leagues kick off

I think the first round is always played after the first league game, in the midweek after that... but I didn't realise that the draw was done this early, that's nuts!

Think MTTC is right, just the draw seems very early. Barely feels like the season's over!

MartyrToTheCause- 06-07-2007
season's barely over but I'm ready for the new season, weekends are so boring without football to go to. I'm obsessively (well, daily...) checking the Merthyr and Spurs websites for news of signings! pre-season is both exciting and too long!

August will soon be here, I suppose!

yeah, I'm gutted I don't have Sky Sports at the moment, I used to enjoy watching the Masters football in past seasons, great stuff.

would be great to see it in the flesh too, that'd be fun :)

Exciting ??!?!?!

Yeah, I'm really excited.

Can't wait to see who's on their way to the Reebok next. Lee Hendrie, Mark Delaney maybe ?

TalkFootball/giggle[1].gif TalkFootball/rofl1.gif oh yes, the heart beat and blood pressure will be rising at the Reebok with the exciting news of McCann signing... I hear they'll be bringing 'legendary' Welsh striker Nathan Blake out of retirement - I think he holds some kind of record for being at 4 clubs relegated from the Premiership, great stuff!

I hear Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is floating about on a free transfer too!

oh shite yeah, I forgot he actually played for Bolton! TalkFootball/giggle[1].gif TalkFootball/rofl1.gif in that case, he'll be making a reappearance for a repeat of that!

Nathan Blake is one of the laziest players I've had to pleasure to have seen, I can't think of anyone to rival him in that respect.

I've just checked, and surprisingly his goal scoring record for Bolton was quite good. I'm shocked!

Vicky didn't mention that we're off to the London event of the Masters; Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea and West Ham. This is probably the only opportunity we'll have to watch a north London derby together, admittedly one involving Steve Sedgley and Darren Anderton v Paul Davis and Anders Limpar
