It seems we snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Still top of the table though.

Still top of the table but you have to play Sweden... they haven't kicked off on form which has been suprising, but surely still favourites to beat England.

Thought England played a lot better, but as I said on the other thrad, come the end of the game and the fitness levels showed... Denmark's players, although they didn't play the better football by any means, are training 5 days a week in Denmark, with students getting paid for missing courses and employers getting payed to give players time off to train. In contrast some of Englands players are training aparrantly one day a week... it showed, because come the end of the game and England, who had found a lot of energy after they scored the goal, were out om their feet compared to Denmark... Lazy challenges from tired players giving away needless set-pieces and Denmark punished you for that...Although credit has to go to Denmark as well, fantastic free-kick and not a bad header either, although the build-up was poor and could have been defended against better.

Thought the substitutions were wrong... Eluko should have been on for Kelly Smith, and given a longer game, if Smith had to go off at all. I would have tried to keep her on because she's one of the, if not the, best player on the team.

On the plus side for England, what a game Alex Scott and Yankley had... Carney has obvioulsy got buckets of talent and threatened to open the game up each time she got the ball... Kelly Smith (although wound up blink.gif ) played well as ever for the first half... if the fitness levels of the team were better so they could continue playing as well as they did earlier on in the game for the whole match, with such a young squad, England could be a very good side...

Good luck against Sweden
