The tenacious Sri Lanka batsman look as though they have managed to scratch a draw. After a great first innings for England, with our lads declaring on 551 (for 6) Lanka replied with a pitiful 192. After following on, they have managed to rack up an impressive 520 for 8, with only a few overs left and light fading.

We should have got them out by lunch then had the rest of the day to smack the 40 or so needed, but our bowlers have been largely ineffective.

Not a good start to the series.

The third and final -*test*-('") was simply an embarassment. Muttiah Muralitharan's amazing 8-70 in England's second innings has given them a much deserved draw in this series.

Respect to Monty Panesar for hitting 26 off 28 balls...the only 'batsman' who looked to want to win this -*test*-('").

If we play like in the summer tour of Australia, we've no hope.
