Alessandro Del Piero has confirmed that he will be fit to spearhead Italy's assault on Euro 2004 this summer.
The talented forward has been out of action for Juventus for the past two months, but is back to full fitness and raring to go.

"For this European Championships I am already feeling fit," said Del Piero. "I think I can give my help."

Del Piero was a key figure in Italy's last European Championship campaign, helping the Azzurri to the final, but then missing key chances as France stole victory in extra time.

"The worse loss in my career was in Euro 2000 against France," confirmed the Juventus captain.

"But the most beautiful victories were winning the Champions League and the title two years ago because it was unexpected."
