I hope Steve McClaren swallows some of his pride and selects David Bentley for the up coming Euro Qualifiers. A superb performance tonight for Blackburn that not only merits a call-up but merits a starting place.

He should have been called up long before now, and whilst his actions in the summer weren't advisable, if we want to qualify for Euro 2008, we need to play with the best players available to us. With Becks and Lennon injured and SWeeP still struggling to cement a place at Chelsea, Bentley is the obvious choice to play right wing.

Arsenal will regret having ever sold Bentley, if he continues to progress in the manner he has done since arriving at Ewood Park.

He doesn't deserve to be picked for his country for a good while yet after what he did to the U-21s.

I agree, if he can't be arsed to play for the Under21s why should he get a shot at the senior team?
