My only point further was that I can't believe gooners are making so much out of Drogbas first. It was onside as the lino didn't flag.

The offside law is in a complete state but by any reading of it Drogba was onside.

As far as I know and I am prepared to be shot down in flames. There has to be clear daylight between the players and there wasn't. Also if there is any doubt the benefot goes to the attacking player.

Drogba was onside. It was a tight decision and I have seen loads of them given as offside but this time the lino got it dead right and should be appluaded not villified.

However I would say that wouldn't I. TalkFootball/loopy.gif

having looked at the incident several times, I would say that it was offside. However, although that was clear in slow motion from an aerial camera angle, it was not clear from the linesman's perspective. He made a wring decision, but in that situation benefit of the doubt should go with the attacking player.

Also, a few minutes later, Drogba was INCORRECTLY flagged offside. It's swings and roundabouts.

As I said, I think it was a wrong decision, but I'm not grumbling too much.

As I said I had no problem with the referee/linesman getting a close offside call wrong, that seemed like a genuine error if any. What really annoyed me is him allowing persistent and cynical fouling yet punishing Denilson with a yellow for his first mistimed tackle.

Incompetence is not an excuse for stupidity.

Carling Cup Winners 2007.

didn't see the game, but I'm glad Arsenal didn't win... ha ha!  TalkFootball/rofl1.gif

I always like to see the team that's knocked us out get beaten, so it's all good.

I smell fear ......

Its official that the 2nd best team in North London is Arsenals Young Gunns. And that they actually beat your '1st' team.... which is clearly a misnomer.....

On Fabregas:

Two Quotes,

"Cesc, bless him, is quite clearly a most appalling loser. And yet, his loathing’s are in impeccable taste. The boy thought Mark Hughes’ bore tactics pathetic, he utterly despises Ashley Cole and he has nothing but contempt for Frank Lampard. What’s to disagree?"

"Big on talent, short on respect"

My thoughts exactly.

yes, it's fear... I'm actually pooping my pants right now, shaking and trembling in fear of Arsenal's young gunns. more terrifying than a night out in Rochdale with Freddy Kruger, so it is.

In addition to the sinister bits, Sky chose to make a lot of the 'brawl' yet when Gary Lewin was the first physio to reach John Terry no mention was made of his selflessness - neither was much made of those Chelsea tossers who kept on thowing objects at Fabregas- what did the bastard Webb do ....nothing.

Not the first time we've seen that sort of a behaviour.

Another Arsenal loss. Another blamed referee. It was actually DIDIER DROGBA who scored the winning goal.

And all I've heard from Maureen and everyone at Chelsea was their enormous gratitude to Gary Lewin and the Arsenal physio staff for acting as promptly as they did.

Nice to see Vicky with "I'm not grumbling too much..."

Shame that attitude doesn't catch on more often.

Still photos don't tell the whole story, you know that. As I said, I saw on telly and I've seen since, photos of Lampard looking positively deranged.

Can't we please forget about what was, at the end of the day, overblown handbags? It was an emotional game, everyone was stressed out about Terry, and a few moments of stupidity and anger should not overshadow what was without a doubt the best League Cup final I've ever seen? Can't we give credit to the players for giving it their all for 90 minutes rather than for acting up for two minutes?

As for Webb...I've heard no one blaming him for the defeat. We may have lost, but Arsenal fans have no reason to be bitter about this one.

There's a great article on this in yesterday's Standard by Matthew Norman (a Scum fan) how highlighted a simple fact...that with this game it was not about winning, that winning was not everything, and that the Arsenal boys came out of this the victors. No reason to be bitter, no reason to get angry or have a go at Webb or the linesman. The result doesn't matter; the way we played matters.

The one thing that youre consistent with are your anti-Arsenal diatribes. However being economical and sensible with the truth is not one of your better attributes.

The fact that poor refereeing sparked off a 22 man brawl with both managers involved clearly shows a man who has lost control of the game, if he was in control or even deemed fair their would be no sense of injustice to cause or provoke such extreme reactions. After all, Terry's injury aside, there were no other major injuries.

But in all honesty I wasnt expecting you to even think about that. rolleyes.gif

Gunnerman: Face facts, the referee completely ruined a decent final. The key decison which he got terribly wrong was Denilson's yellow card. The 'offside' could have gone either way but when you remove a central midfielders ability to tackle by issuing him a very early yellow, you also put more focus on equally less threatening challenges. Essien and Diarra could easily have walked if the bastard Webb was consistent in his ways.

Very sinister.

There are always exceptions. I'm sure KR would also be one.

TalkFootball/frusty.gif Maybe collectively you are too thick to realise that I didnt say the referee made us lose but ruined an excellent game of football regardless of your loyalties....

At what point did I say the 'offside' (note the quotes, numpty) goal cost us? The decision to book Denilson for a minor offence was the start of the perceived injustice amongst the players, if you heard Adebayor's comments when he got sent off he used the phrase 'fcking cheat'.

At no point did I say Chelsea cheated or that a decision went against us in the way they scored.

But then coming from your skewered view of the incident I wouldnt expect any objectivity.

Tool.

Exceptions indeed Vicky.

And I won't even start on the Blackburn replay. It's only TalkFootball/floggingadeadhorse.gif

Seems to me youre more interested in Arsenal than your own team, which you rarely comment on....... rolleyes.gif

A surefire expression of fear.....
