Below are the updated second round qualifying results from FIFA World Cup qualifying in the CONCACAF region. The results are broken down by the three groups that will be formed for the semifinal round by each series winner. The semifinal round will consist of three four-team groups playing a six-game round robin competition, with the top two finishers from each group moving onto the final round of qualiyfing in 2005. Based on the results, Group 1 and Group 2 were both completed with the top seeds winning each match-up, while Group 3 had a mild upset in St. Kitts & Nevis eliminating 2002 semifinal round qualifiers Barbados.

SEMIFINAL ROUND GROUPS (Aug. 18 - Nov. 17, 2004)

Group 1
USA - Should qualify but this looks like a tough group
Jamaica - May surprise some people
Panama - Favorites in the group with the US
El Salvador - Should bring up the rear

Group 2
Costa Rica - Best team in the group
Canada - Will be battling for second
Guatemala - May sneak in
Honduras - This one is tough to call

Group 3
Mexico - cnuts
St. Kitts & Nevis - Where the F*** is this place?
St. Vincent & The Grenadines - No chance
Trinidad & Tobago - Will finish second behind the cnuts

Sup Cabel, it looks like another US-Mexico final unless something unexpected happens. Costa Rica could be trouble.


St Kitts and Nevis is a small island north of that other small island with the palm trees and the place that plays good calypso music, but not to be confused with it's closest neighbor, the one with all the rum and nice beaches. You know the one. TalkFootball/cool-smiley-027.gif
