Giorgio Chinaglia's Corner

Last year we saw a very successful ChampionsWorld Series, and we went far past the expectations that anybody had set for us. All you have to do is look at the great crowds we had in Giants Stadium, Los Angeles, and Washington. And we had record-time sell-outs in Philadelphia and Seattle. But the grea-*test*-('") thing was that the fans saw great games, where the teams really went all out. They were great soccer games with great stars, and there were plenty of goals. There wasn‚t a single 0-0 game, and every team really put on a show. It was unbelievable! How can you top that?

Well, guys, this year we are going to top that. We have some great things in store for 2004. We‚ll have more matches, more teams, more stars, and we‚ll play in more cities. Of course I don‚t have to say what kind of teams we are talking about, because you know that ChampionsWorld is committed to bringing the best teams in the world. We‚ve already announced that Manchester United and Celtic will be back, and we‚ll only keep you hanging on a little longer
to find out who they will be playing against. You might see some games that you can't believe!

The most important thing is that this year you are going to see many new stars in addition to the great players at Manchester United and Celtic. Some of the teams in the 2004 ChampionsWorld Series are up-and-coming teams, with great traditions of developing young talent. And some of these teams are big names who have shown that they are willing to spend a lot of money on the best players in the world. Last year Ronaldinho made his Barcelona debut during the ChampionsWorld Series, and I expect to see more players playing with their new teams for the first time. With all the rumors of big-name players moving to new teams this summer we‚re in for a real treat this year.

Can we beat the excitement and experience of last year? Yes we can, and we are going to. Soccer fans in America will be pleased with our schedule because we will bring in exciting new teams and will deliver the excitement of
the ChampionsWorld Series to some of the best cities in America and Canada. We look forward to seeing you at the games this summer.

They still have not announced who the rest of the 'secret' teams are, but reading between the lines about teams willing to spend a lot of money on the best players, has to be my beloved Chelski!!! I was speaking to the admin at the Rapid's office and she also confirmed that they have heard the same rumour woohoo.gif

I will keep you posted if I hear anything about concrete dates etc.

Good post ferrari,
I was wondering if you know what cities they are looking at for this years tour? Last year was great but there wasn't a game within 1500 miles of me.

All I've heard is that Celtic will play in the Boston and Toronto area between July 21 - 1 August.

Man Utd will play again in the New York area (Giants Stadium) and for the first time at the newly renovated Soldier Field (Chicago). I've heard Ohio as a location, but not sure yet if it is for Man Utd or for the other teams mentioned.

I have signed up for their newsletter for updates and will keep you posted. Last time the tickets went on sale at the location's box office and Ticketmaster (by phone and web). The Man Utd matches sold out within the first day!.

LA!!

I went to the ManU/Club America game at the LA Coliseum last summer and while it was a blast, I'd rather see the next Champions World US Tour at Victoria Street, the home of the LA Galaxy. However, since it's all about the $$, I'm sure that if the tour returns to LA they will go to the Coliseum or the Rose Bowl.
