A third EXCELLENT performance on the bounce by my team.

We outplayed and outclassed an Atletico team full of top drawer international players.

Matty Taylor absolutely peppered Abbatti's goals with shots but somehow couldn't find a way past him - a big improvement on his wayward shooting on Saturday.

Kevin Davies won absolutely everything that was aimed at him. Their two CB's must've had nightmares about him last week.

Diouf had them rattled and even showed some restraint (yes, really) by not retaliating when Lopez spat in his face.

Fortunately the linesman spotted Aguero's saliva-based attack on Matty Taylor and was rightly red carded just 10 mins or so after he's been brought on.

Samuel had his best game for us and didn't give Reyes a kick all night. AOB and Cahill are looking to be a fantastic pairing. Just one goal conceded in their three games together.

I'm sure we'll see a different Atletico performace in the return leg, but we didn't see anytihg last night to worry us too much.

Hopefully we'll have astrong enough ref (as we had last night) who will catch on to their sneaky, dirty tactics.

Come on you Whites !!!! TalkFootball/whacky088.gif

Well, who'd have thought we'd keep a clean sheet in both games against, what was supposedly, a very strong Atletico team.

I'm proud of the boys last night, even though I could only listen to it on the radio seeing as it wasn't televised and wasn't even streamed anywhere on t'internet.

Next up, Sporting Lisbon. TalkFootball/whacky088.gif

That's six clean sheets out of our last seven matches ............ and the only reason it isn't 7 out of 7 is because the linesman failed to spot Diarra being at least two yards offside.

Heopefully we can continue our excellent defensive record up the road at Inbred Rovers on Sunday.

The future's bright, the future's ginger. TalkFootball/cheers.gif

Massive Result for Bolton. I think that Bolton are a team that no one wants to face right now. They have been in fine form and are showing great discipline.
