You and me both brother.

Scholes' goal was absolutely beautiful.

I am a f**k!ing nervous wreck!!!

What a goal by ginger head and what a game, I spent the last 15 minutes on my knees, I could neither sit or stand!!!

Bring on the Pool, I have always been wanting a United v Pool final...

Now I am off to get wasted, the only way I can settle my nerves....

GET IN THERE UNITED>>>>>>>>>>>>

Evolution- 04-29-2008
Could barely watch the last 15 minutes, in a bar packed of students one lot were shouting at the TV telling the United lads to clear their f**king lines, the other half shouting for barca to twat it from distance and score a screamer.

Don't think Scholes has had that great a season, but he produced the magic when required, f**king love you Scholesey! Time to get the job done in Moscow and start of this new generation team with a bang!

Wait... Liverpool isn't in Lancashire, is it?!

Anyway, I thought United were full value for the win, and were the more dangerous attacking team. Barca, for all their decent football, didn't really look like score. Messi had a few speculative efforts, and that's about it. Eto'o was pretty anonymous, as was the likes of Iniesta and Xavi.

I was quite impressed with the boy Yaya Toure though, he has a bit of the Paddy Vieira about him and played well in a deep lying central midfield role.

For United, I thought Brown and Ferdinand at centre back were superb. They snuffed out everything. Carrick had a quietly influential role in the centre of midfield. Nani showed some flashes of good stuff, and but for a lack of composure could have scored an excellent goal, when he flashed over after a good run and dribble.

Tevez was an absolute menace to the Barca back four, always pressurising, closing down. He would be a good shout for the Man of the Match for me.

C. Ronaldo had one of his less flashy games, but showed what a good team player he is. He lead the line well, and brought players into the game, where normally he'd just run with the ball, and perhaps lose it. A good front man's performance from the lad.

Scholes goal. What can you say? An absolute rasper, and a worthy match winner.

The Cup is there for the taking for United now. Of the 3 teams left, they are the best overall.

Martyr, Liverpool can be classed as Lancashire I think.

I suppose it would now be correct to call it Merseyside, just as Bolton should be classed as Gtr Manchester ............. however, I (and everyone else I know) puts Bolton, Lancs as their address

Anyway, back to topic.

IMO a draw would've again been the right result. The game basically boiled down to Barca (Deco) making an awful error on the edge of his own box and playing it right to Scholes's feet. As soon as he pulled his leg back it had goal written all over it.

In the end, that mistake by Deco was the only real difference between the sides.

Yes, Barca had a lot more posession but most of theat posession was in the middle of the park and United were happy to let them have it there.

As for the final - as a neutral - I have to hope Chelsea are United's opponents as they are a far more even match as recent years' results between the clubs will show.

Finally - just a special mention here for Messi. What a player ?!?! I've never seen a player beat his opponent EVERY time as he does. TalkFootball/clap.gif

"Martyr, Liverpool can be classed as Lancashire I think."

"Merseyside was created on April 1, 1974 from areas previously part of the administrative counties of Lancashire and Cheshire, along with the county boroughs of Birkenhead, Wallasey, Liverpool, Bootle, and St Helens."

Sorry guys.. I did not know this. wub.gif

I guess I'm showing my age. it was in Lancashire when I left England in 1959..

Let me try again.

I look foward to an all Northern final, come 'Pool twat them Chel$ki barstewards. TalkFootball/cheers.gif

P.S. I found this definition interesting.. TalkFootball/lol.gif

Liverpool takes its name from the original mile long inlet from the River Mersey, (the "Pool"), which once existed there. It was filled in the 18th century and the entrance to the Mersey Tunnel marks its original site. The term "Liver" has 2 possible explanations. One, the old English word "Liefer" meaning 'thick' -

Fabulous game.

Unlucky Liverpool, well done Chelsea.

I was SO glad for Lampard that he scored that penalty.

Looking forward to a great final. Hopefully it'll be a massive improvement from the last time Chelsea and Man Utd faced each other in a final.

TalkFootball/signs064.gif on all points.

I must the be only one was confused by Benayoun's inclusion over Babel. But what do I know, Rafa has infinitely more European trophies than I do blink.gif

Did anyone see the broadcast with Steve Nicol on the presenter panel? He was fuming about the ref after the match. Pretty funny.

The result last night is what football is all about. supposed LFC Supporters on various forums have been having a right real go at rafa , at the team at some of the lads.... Sickening i tell you. we win as a team, we lose as a team.

I'm immensely proud of the boys. To fight back to level terms to take it to extra time , to come within 1 goal .. YES 1 GOAL of making it 3 CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINALS in 4 years...

HUGE GAMES like this are decided by the thinnnest of margins..

-If Riise hadnt scored that 'own ' goal

-If the assistand referee had flagged for offside for kalous run which led to Drogba's goal.

-If Big Sami had'nt given away the penalty in the first half of extra time

- If the Referee had given the penalty when BIG SAMI was tripped in the penalty area

- If Kuyts effort had gone in , instead of brushing the far post.

lots of , if's, buts and decisions.... but that's the way it is.. football is a microcosm of life sometimes.. you can never legislate for everything. fate , luck, karma call it what you may play a major role

YNWA Stevie G, Carra , Hyypia and the lads..
you did us proud.

YNWA Senor Rafa Benitez. you're a fantastic manager and I hope you decide to stay despite all the sh1 t happening around you

YNWA frank lampard. we give you stick , but I personally know exactly how you felt last night and it took guts, courage and cojones to take that penalty... i hope for yours and your late mother's sake you help chelsea win the final in moscow

YNWA to all true REDS.. who awake this morning with that hollow empty feeling, but know that to be a LFC supporter is more than just ranting, and raving and wishing plagues on our players.. it's a way of life, its a state of mind, its something within you that can never escape. you are its prisoner, and yet you lock the door and throw away the keys, because thats how much you love this club.
