will see a re-run of the 25thmay 2005 champions league final between liverpool and milan.

we all know what that brought us and what a night that was..the emotions were running high in the james houshold..from absolute devastation to total mayhem and all withing the space of a few hours. TalkFootball/boxing.gif

myself i was confident that cl trophy no5 would have been won within 90 minutes but how wrong i was...

but this time after watching last nights game and tonights milan v utd game i feel no confidence at all...i think milan will turn us over and do so convincingly i cant see 3 first half goals this time but 2 and at least another in the second half with us only managing the one sad.gif

i hate to say this cos i love my team but i think we're out of our depth this year and no6 will not be coming home sad.gif

WTF are on about???
yesterday you was all up for it and saying you was gonna have to change you signature???
Now after Milan breeze thru you have lost all confidence in Rafa and the boys....I will still be standing tall and cheering us on and I have to disagree with you on the score...we can beat them inside 90 minutes and I believe we will be visiting Anfield and the museum to look at 6 beautiful European Cups.

Please take a good look at your siggie and start to believe what you have done before!

do you really think we have a hope in hells chance of no6 this year then baldy??? milan will throw the fooking lot at us and i just dont think we will handle it....just my opinion tho.

Evolution- 05-03-2007
Liverpool's chances of winning a 6th title will rest on whether they can nullify Kaka. If they can't mark him out of the game, Liverpool will struggle.

Going by this week's performances of the two finalists, we are up for a much better game than Liverpool v Man Utd would have provided. Sure I'm disappointed that Utd didn't get through and that we haven't got two English teams in the champions league final, but Milan looked great and Gattuso v Gerrard should be a great battle, as will be Mascherano v Kaka.

Shame I'm at an awards bash that night and will miss it TalkFootball/cries.gif

Damn straight I think we have a chance.....a bloody good one at that!
We supposedly had no chance last time especially at half-time and 3-0 down I still believe that we could and would win.
My nephew(a MUFC fan)text me to take the piss and I text him back to say that the first goal in the second half would be the deciding factor.
We are in the final and on equal terms with Milan and we are a better team than two years ago.
So Scotty stop panicking and buy yourself a nice pair of RED tinted glasses. TalkFootball/cheers.gif

heres the thing Milan are not as good as they were they are 22 points out of first in Siere A. They were only docked 7 points for match fixing. They were Italian Champs last time we met. We are much better than we were. We have Reina instead of Dudek, Crouch and Kuyt instead or Baros Cisse, Mascherano instead of Hamann. Pennant instead of Smicer, and Harry Kewell is fit now and will likely play this weekend. I feel confident very confident. I am more confident we can beat Milan than I am we would have beat ManU. I feel really good about our chances. Plus we have Rafa.

I'd agree that Liverpool are a better team than two years ago, whilst Milan appear to be pretty much the same, besides the fact there's no Crespo - who did a lot of the damage in the first half 2 years ago...

the one thing in Milan's favour is the fact that Kaka has grown as a man and as a player... the good thing for Liverpool is the likes of Cafu, Nesta and Maldini have grown arthritic!

Mascherano could easily mark Kaka out of the game, playing as he is at the moment.

Liverpool have more chance of beating AC Milan than they would have of beating United, in my opinion...

I see yo there reading this and hope you are nearer to having a new change of heart......please don't be the only Red on here to not believe in our great team. TalkFootball/cheers.gif

Faith is believing in something when common sense tells you not to.

After Istanbul and last season's FA Cup, LFC fans should have no problem mustering the faith that they can earn a 6th Euro title!!! TalkFootball/praying.gif

C'MON SAJ, KEEP THE FAITH!!

I have seen Kaka marked out. But Milan without Crespo and Shevchenko and Nedved. Inzaghi does not scare us. and Reina is like a sweeper he will not let those silly goals in. Let's not forget ManU were without the heart of their defence. the goals were Very Soft. I have Never seen 3 goals so soft in a semi tie. Gatusso, Cafu, Nesta, Maldini seems like a dream team from the 90's.

It was Milans night infront of their fans with buckets of rain pooring down. All 3 goals were soft gifted to AC Milan. Sure ManU could not break them down but thats because they did not work a possesion game. They tried to take it to Milan and run it. But they were caught out early and never recovered after that. They lost patience early.

ManU were the Better Team. But a combonation of the loss of Ferdinand and un fit Vidic gave them a disadvantage at the back. YOu and I know that in Europe you have to be right at the Back. As you saw in the first game with Chelsea we were missing Finnan and Arbeloa was twisted up for a minute. We have the best defence in Europe I am sure of that. We have no one on suspension and the way Pennant is playing we may see Stevie G back in the middle.

Now we have nothing to play for in the Legue so you can bet we will all be match fit. This weekend we will field a somewhat soft side with Kewell back in the team.

I posted something in the Europe and Beyond on this, only to find today that there is a specific site for European Cups only. I guess I have to take a tour of the site to know my way around. How about Introducing a site map at top Axe?

Anyway, back to the topic. It is not only Kaka that Liverpool needs to nullify if they want a chance to shout 6 times champions, they need to restict the passing ranges of Seederof (spp?) and prevent him from setting the tempo of the game 9basically hassle him) as he was very cruicial against Man United. Like I said on the other site, Liverpool needs to limit the damage in the first half and the first 20 minutes of second half after which the old legs of Ac will tire and then Liverpool can accelerate the tempo, this will win them the cup! Milan without Nedved?!

Milan have never had Nedved! he played for Juventus!

If you click on 'Today's Active Topics' down at the bottom then you can usually see what's been posted in the last couple of days. rolleyes.gif

Chances are, if it's worth discussing, then you'll see a thread for it.
