The grea-*test*-('") manager in Leeds United history sadly passed away after a long battle with the incurable motor neurone disease.
All the success Leeds United have ever know came under the great Don Revie who raised a group of young lads to become world beaters and moulded them into a team that even today over 30 years since Revie stood down as Leeds manager are considered one of the best teams to ever come out of england(and europe for that matter)
Revie was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in 1987 but vowed not to let it beat him and set himself a mission to raise as much money as he could for research into the disease. That same indomitable spirit was conveyed in a message from his favourite son Billy Bremner who urged his gaffer to keep fighting, "just like you told the players to in our great days together".
In May 1988, Leeds United arranged a benefit match in his honour, with the money being split between research into motor neurone disease and the Leeds Children in Need campaign. For many, that return visit to Elland Road was the first occasion in years that they had encountered their former boss, who was now confined to a wheelchair.
On the 26th of May 1989 Don lost his battle with the disease.

A true Leeds United hero who brought us all the success we've ever known. Ever manager since has been measured against him and not one has even come close.
Don was treated badly by the british media after he stepped down from being england manager and many believe he did not get the credit he deserved.

R.I.P Don you will never be forgotten.

We've been through it all together
And we've had our ups and downs
We're gonna stay with you forever
At least until the world stops going round
